Drama Review: My Lovely Girl (내겐 너무 사랑스러운 그녀)

I self-proclaim that my first love is Rain and he is the reason I find myself watching Korean dramas. Even if the story line becomes dragging or I don't like the acting, I find myself finishing his dramas. My Lovely Girl is the latest drama I've finished. It is his first drama after he got discharged from the army in 2014.

Synopsis from Wikipedia:
Lee Hyunwook (Rain) is the CEO of a talent agency that scouts and trains idols. He is a brilliant composer-producer who appears cold and indifferent on the outside but is sensitive and kind-hearted. Hyunwook lives in great difficulty as he is unable to let go of his ex-girlfriend who died in an accident he witnessed first hand 3 years previously. His ex-girlfriend's sister, Yoon Sena (Krystal), moves to Seoul in order to pursue her music-composing career and meets Hyun-wook who helps her achieve it. Hyunwook replaces his father as the president of ANA Entertainment, bringing him challenges and conflicts in his career as a president, with trainees, company promotions, his love life and Sena. In the midst of healing each other through music, they fall in love.

I am no fan of Krystal although I like f(x) where she is a part of. However, she looks old in this drama and I'm not sure if it's because of the age gap between her and Rain. I think it may be because of the styling. I am quite satisfied with this drama and what kept my interest is the music. The OST matches the mood of the scenes where it was used. I also liked the romantic moments though what left an impact on me is between Krystal and L where Shiwoo (L's character) asked Sena why does she make his heart skip faster.

Belong is a sample of a song from the official soundtrack. They used the song as something Sena and her sister played together and served as a confirmation that Sena is the person Hyunwook is looking for.

I think I will watch this drama again just to go through my favorite scenes and to refresh in my memory when the song used matched the mood of the scene. I'm satisfied that Rain chose this script to make his comeback in the small screen. I'm looking forward to watching his drama that aired this year though it may have to wait because I still have a couple of dramas lined up.

Next up may be an album review or a travel-related post so I hope you continue to read my posts.
